Hello dear friends,
I finished last night the assembly of a crystal radio using a 100cm x 100cm loop antenna with a 5082-2835 Agilent Schottky diode, matching audio transformer (24H primary and 93mH secondary), a pair of magnetic homebrewed headphones and a 300k//0.22uF Benny (variable resistance).
Fifteen stations have been tuned indoors. Two are rather weak, only heard in a quiet room. The other stations come in with very good volume. All transmitters with less than 30kW, and 10+ km away. The furthest coming in is 30km away and 12kW. My listening area is on a second floor indoors. Have not tested it outdoors yet.
Apologies for the pictures’ quality, but my cellular phone is quite poor taking good photos. I see them nice in my phone, but when downloaded to a PC they look kind of “snowy”.
Very best regards,
Ramon
