Hi Vladimir

Yes I am also lost when I hear Arabic. Similar I once was lost when hearing
Russian. That was the main motivation to start learning Russian. I tol dto my
teacher: "I don't want to learn words like fork, knife, uncle, aunt, but teach
me radio related words". Later on I had the opportunity to live with a family
for a few weeks, and was glad that I learned the above words anyway.

So I guess you should start learn Arabic to have more fun in the future. :-)

Your Qatar catch may be a little short for 2Es, maybe you had a one-hop linked
with tropo? See how intense tropo is over water down there.

If it was 2Es you should have also heard something from the region East-Turkey
/ Iraq / Iran. The chances of a tropo link-up is quite high there, you should
more often get signals from that region. Tropo probably never goes away down
there?
Anyway, that is a very interesting region that you can reach.
